Kaye Umansky is that rare thing - a truly funny writer! Kaye's recent title, Dick the Delightful Duck (Scholastic, Feb 2023) illustrated by Ben Mantle, is a hilarious tale that follows Dick the usually delightful duck - but not today - today he's got out of the wrong side of bed. It's been shortlisted for Spark Children's Award 2024, Portsmouth Picture Book Award 2024, Stockport Children's best picture book award 2024 and James Reckitt Hull Children's Book Award 2024.

Kaye's latest title is the super funny rhyming picture book, This Rock is Mine (Scholastic, July 2023). It tells the tale of two frogs sitting on an ordinary little rock. But . . . uh-oh! Both frogs think it's their rock - and they really don't want to share! The frogs fight and squabble furiously. But when a hungry heron swoops down, both frogs realise it's time to find another rock . . . together!

Simon & Schuster reissued Kaye's spellbinding Pongwiffy series in 2018. She is also the author of Naughty Naughty Monster (Templar), a fantastic picture book illustrated by Greg Abbott, and the hilarious novel, The Knights of the Drop-Leaf Table (Barrington Stoke), featuring King Artie and his annoying knights.
