Sandra Dieckmann is an illustrator and part-time potter working from her Studio Mama Wolf in East London which also doubles up as a tiny illustration shop. Deeply influenced by her early childhood in northern Germany, which was often spent exploring outside or surrounded by European folklore the likes of the brothers Grimm and stories by Astrid Lindgren, her artwork now revolves around her love for nature and wildlife, drifting, dreams and all the things that touch her personally.
Her work has been applied to a wide selection of international commissions and projects working on book illustrations, editorial, apparel and much more. In 2011 Sandra was chosen by Oscar winning animator and illustrator Shaun Tan as the Emerging Talent in Illustration for her image ‘Fox Tree’.
Sandra has just finished working on her first picture book Leaf as author and illustrator which will be published by Flying Eye Books in June 2017. The picture book tells the story of a young polar bear as he gets displaced and his plight trying to get back home.
