Kerry Barrett is the author of eight novels, including A Step in Time (HarperCollins), The Forgotten Girl (HarperCollins) and The Girl in the Picture (HQ Digital).
In Kerry's latest novel, The Hidden Women (HQ, February 2019), Helena loves nothing more than digging into the past as a researcher for hit show Where Did You Come From? But when handsome superstar Jack sweeps into her life, she unexpectedly finds herself trawling through her own family history. As she explores her family’s past, she discovers more secrets than she ever expected, particularly about her aunt Lilian, a pilot in the war. What happened to Lilian, and why can’t she open up about it now?
Born in Edinburgh, Kerry moved to London as a child, where she now lives with her husband and two sons. A massive bookworm growing up, she used to save up her pocket money to buy the latest Sweet Valley High, then read the whole book on the bus home and have to wait months for the next one. Eventually she realised it would be easier to write her own stories.
