Scoular Anderson is an outstandingly successful illustrator of many genres of children's books, including picture books, non-fiction and activity books.

As a child Scoular spent most of his time writing and illustrating stories. After studying graphic design at Glasgow School of Art, he moved to London to work as an illustrator and began his career with stories published in Puffin Post magazine. He has written numerous books, including the bestselling My First Joke Book (Young Corgi), the How To Be A… history series (HarperCollins) and non-fiction for Cambridge University Press.

Scoular now lives in Argyll with his wife, accompanied by a grumpy old cat and a far too exuberant Border terrier. For relaxation he works in their garden, growing flowers (to paint) and vegetables (to eat).
